ADK Mountain Sports

          Life begins outdoors

Calendar

· This is a new feature we just added. If you know an event and would like us to post it, email us at adkmountainsports@gmail.com and we will put a link on the calendar.  Also, we will be updating this page periodically with the Guide’s Journal.  This is where you can read about past trips, weather conditions, seasonal fish patterns, and sights along the trial so you can decide the best time to plan your adventure.

Schedule of Events

· Guide’s entry, 7/28/2010.   With this summer being one of the hottest on record, the Northern Pike fishing is slow, which is expected.  If those fish can find deep, cool water, they will be there; along with the Lake Trout and Walleye.  However, it created an explosion in the Tiger Muskie fishing as both the Tiger Muskie and Muskie hit baits aggressively this time of year.  Your best chance of catching a Tiger Muskie/Muskie is now as this fish pattern is well established by the scientific community.  Also, Bass and Pickerel are hitting well.  However, I confess that I look forward to the cooler weather when the big Pike start to hit aggressively again.

· Guide’s entry, 8/14/2010.   Wow...what an adventure!  Took client to a fish local river near their home in Central New York and it was a perfect day for fishing. Overcast, rain expected in the afternoon, and temperature around 80.  In 6 hours we caught 7 Northern Pike (largest fish landed was 33inches),  client lost a Tiger Musky approximately 38 inches but landed a whopper Largemouth Bass...22.5 inches and 5.25 pounds!  I am not able to write each trip in the ADKMS log book, but keep stopping by to find out how we’re doing...thanks and we’ll look for you in the ADK’s!
